The dilemma In February my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. All my life I have been there for my family, yet not once have they asked how we have coped. I do not know if they are ignorant, lazy, neglectful or simply don’t care – or perhaps it’s all four. As I’ve had occasion to say quite frequently in the past few months, family can be a great disappointment. Some rise to the challenge with aplomb, delivering homemade chicken soup and brilliantly gauging the simple, practical needs of a family in crisis.
